About the role#
This internship offers an undergraduate student hands-on experience in a research laboratory focused on immune-mediated mechanisms in atherosclerosis and cancer. You will work alongside experienced team members to build a foundation in immunology, molecular biology, and cellular biology. The program is designed to develop your technical proficiency, critical thinking, and ability to communicate scientific findings over a period of up to 12 months.
What you'll do#
- Assist with experimental design and project activities.
- Perform laboratory techniques including DNA/RNA isolation, PCR, and gel documentation.
- Prepare flow cytometry samples and maintain cell culture.
- Conduct histological sectioning, staining, and immunohistochemistry.
- Review scientific literature and participate in journal club discussions.
- Acquire and analyze research data.
- Present research findings to the laboratory team.
What you'll need#
- You must be 18 years of age or older.
- A High School Diploma or GED is required.
- You must reside in the greater Los Angeles area or surrounding cities for the duration of the internship.
- Current enrollment in a Biology or Biomedical Sciences program.

- This is an on-site, full-time, paid position based in Los Angeles, California.
- The internship follows a rolling schedule.
