About the role#
Good Samaritan is hiring a Laboratory Intern for a part-time, PRN position. This role involves working variable shifts, including some weekends, at our facility in Indiana. You will assist the laboratory team with daily operations, specimen handling, and facility maintenance.
What you'll do#
- Collect blood and other specimens from patients.
- Process specimens arriving through the tube system or from outside sources.
- Assist with clerical tasks and maintain laboratory supplies.
- Clean and disinfect work areas, including counters and the morgue.
- Keep phlebotomy trays stocked and organized.
- Perform courier duties as needed.
- Review and sign educational materials.
- Maintain the break room.
- Interact with patients and staff with compassion and respect.
What you'll need#
- A High School diploma or GED is preferred.
- Previous phlebotomy experience or relevant on-the-job training.
- Completion of science courses is helpful.
