About the role#
The Facilities Engineering Co-op supports our engineering and facilities team in San Lorenzo. You will work on projects to improve process efficiency, reduce cycle times, and lower operational costs. Under the guidance of a mentor, you will contribute to maintenance, reliability, and continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
What you'll do#
- Identify and implement process improvements using Lean and Six Sigma principles.
- Support engineering projects, including concept development, design, and implementation.
- Conduct gap assessments to find deficiencies in procedures and compliance.
- Prepare technical documentation, reports, and presentations for project updates.
- Assist with maintenance, asset management, and reliability programs to improve equipment performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on facility-related initiatives.
- Ensure all work meets environmental, health, safety, and occupational regulations.
- Perform special projects and additional duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Completion of your freshman year at an accredited university.
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Expected graduation date of December 2027 or later.
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Word.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work both independently and within a team.
- Permanent authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
- Experience with engineering schematics, technical drawings, or CAD software is helpful.
- Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, maintenance management, or project management is a plus.
Location & details#
- This is an on-site role based in San Lorenzo, Puerto Rico.
- The position is a full-time co-op requiring 40 hours per week.
- The term runs from January to December 2026.
