About the role#
The TDS Proteins Development Cell Engineering, Analytics & Screening (CEAS) organization is seeking a Co-Op to support cell line engineering and research initiatives. This role involves hands-on work with CHO cell biology, mass spectrometry, proteomics, metabolomics, and assay automation. You will collaborate with scientists to investigate molecular mechanisms that influence cell productivity and product quality, contributing to the development of analytical platforms for biologics manufacturing.
What you'll do#
- Support cell line engineering and cell culture research activities.
- Develop and implement proteomics and metabolomics workflows to characterize cellular pathways.
- Perform sample preparation, method development, and analysis for LC-MS/MS and mass spectrometry studies.
- Generate and analyze Host Cell Protein (HCP) profiles.
- Support the development of high-throughput and automated analytical workflows.
- Investigate protein function, regulation, and interaction networks.
- Collaborate with upstream process development teams on research questions related to cell culture performance.
- Operate advanced analytical instrumentation.
- Analyze, interpret, and present experimental results.
- Maintain laboratory notebooks, technical documentation, and project records.
What you'll need#
- Completion of undergraduate freshman year at an accredited university.
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree in Biology, Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Chemical, Biological, or Biomedical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related fields.
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Experience with mass spectrometry and biological sample preparation.
- Ability to analyze, process, and interpret LC-MS/MS and other biological datasets.
- Familiarity with proteomics, metabolomics, and protein characterization.
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to balance multiple projects and work independently within a collaborative team.
- Demonstrated leadership, initiative, and scientific curiosity.
- Permanent authorization to work in the U.S. without the need for employment visa sponsorship.
Location & details#
- Location: Spring House, Pennsylvania, United States.
- Term: Six months, typically Winter to Summer 2027.
- Modality: Full-time, 40 hours per week, fully on-site.
