About the role#
The IMM Cross Functional Internship is a full-time, immersive learning experience within the Immunology Therapeutic Area Research and Development team. You will work in a global, matrixed environment, gaining practical experience in the drug development process. Throughout this three-month program, you will be assigned a mentor to help guide your professional growth and support your contributions to meaningful team projects.
What you'll do#
- Develop a foundational understanding of clinical research and drug development.
- Participate in department, project, and cross-functional team meetings.
- Shadow key clinical and functional roles to support your professional development.
- Assist with clinical data and medical review, including query generation and resolution.
- Support the interpretation, reporting, and preparation of oral and written research results.
- Review medical literature, related products, and emerging technologies.
- Conduct a clinical trial retention gap analysis by reviewing data, gathering stakeholder feedback, and identifying root causes.
- Collaborate on projects with colleagues across functional disciplines.
- Complete a primary research project and present your findings to relevant teams.
- Prepare and present an abstract or poster at the organization-wide research symposium.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited University or College program, with no graduation occurring before, during, or after the internship.
- Undergraduate students must have completed at least six semesters or equivalent quarters. Graduate students pursuing a master’s, PharmD, Physician Assistant, or PhD are also eligible.
- Enrollment in biology, chemistry, biomedical engineering, or related clinical and translational research fields.
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
- Permanent authorization to work in the U.S. without the need for sponsorship.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Ability to balance multiple project deliverables and lead peers or project teams.
- Working knowledge of Slack and the Microsoft suite.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.

- Location: Spring House, Pennsylvania.
- Term: Summer 2027 (May 17 through August 6).
- Modality: Hybrid (on-site three days per week).
