About the role#
This internship bridges engineering and business. You will work in a customer-facing environment to learn how to apply engineering principles to HVAC controls and building automation systems. You will gain hands-on experience in technical problem-solving and professional relationship management while working alongside experienced Sales Engineers.
What you'll do#
- Support the design and development of HVAC controls and building automation solutions.
- Participate in customer meetings, site surveys, and technical discussions to gather requirements.
- Help prepare technical proposals, presentations, scope documentation, and solution recommendations.
- Shadow Sales Engineers through the full sales lifecycle, from opportunity identification to project turnover.
- Collaborate with Operations and Project Teams to understand system installation, commissioning, and project execution.
- Work with Service Operations teams to learn about system maintenance, troubleshooting, and lifecycle service strategies.
- Visit construction sites and participate in project walkthroughs to observe equipment integration.
- Use Salesforce and other engineering tools to track opportunities and support sales forecasting.
- Learn to explain complex engineering concepts as clear business value for customers and contractors.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program for Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Management, or a related technical field.
- Interest in smart buildings, building automation, and HVAC technologies.
- Desire to combine engineering expertise with business development and consultative sales.
- Strong communication, presentation, and analytical skills.
- Comfort interacting with diverse groups, including contractors, engineers, and customers.
- U.S. citizenship or a legal right to work in the U.S.

- Term: Summer 2027.
- Schedule: Full-time (40 hours per week).
