About the role#
Jefferson is hiring a full time Nurse Extern for the Telemetry unit. This position is part of an 8-week summer program starting June 1, 2026. It is designed for nursing students who will graduate in December 2026 or May 2027.
What you'll do#
- Perform specific tasks under the supervision of a registered nurse.
- Carry out routine patient care assignments.
- Demonstrate accountability for assigned patients on your shift.
- Perform established nursing procedures for individuals or groups of patients.
- Work in controlled care situations.
- Seek out learning opportunities and guidance from appropriate individuals.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited college of nursing.
- Successful completion of Fundamentals in Nursing.
- Completion of at least one medical surgical clinical rotation.
- Completion of a clinical skills lab from an accredited professional nursing program.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Good organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work full time hours.

- Work modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Full time, 12-hour shifts with a rotating schedule.
