About the role#
Jefferson is hiring a full-time Nurse Extern for the Telemetry unit at Jefferson Einstein Philly. This position is for the Summer 2027 term and requires working full-time hours, specifically three 12-hour shifts with rotating schedules. You will work in a clinical setting under the supervision of a registered nurse or nurse manager.
What you'll do#
- Perform specific tasks as directed by a registered nurse.
- Carry out routine patient care assignments.
- Demonstrate accountability for your assigned patients during each shift.
- Perform established nursing procedures for individuals or groups of patients.
- Work in controlled care situations.
- Seek out learning opportunities and guidance from appropriate team members.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited college of nursing.
- Successful completion of Fundamentals in Nursing.
- Completion of at least one medical-surgical clinical rotation.
- Completion of a clinical skills lab from an accredited professional nursing program.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work full-time hours.
