About the role#
This is a 12-week paid internship focused on fiber-cement manufacturing. You will work on-site in Prattville, Alabama, during the summer of 2027. The role emphasizes practical engineering experience in process improvement, equipment support, and production optimization.
What you'll do#
- Monitor equipment performance to identify and address inefficiencies.
- Perform quality checks on surface finish, dimensions, and product defects.
- Collect and analyze production data to support improvement projects.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues with technicians and engineers.
- Participate in lean and 5S activities to improve workflow.
- Update technical documentation and standard operating procedures.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor's degree program for Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering.
- Graduation date between December 2027 and May 2029.
- Minimum GPA of 3.00.
- Full-time availability for 12 weeks during summer 2027.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
- Reliable transportation.
- Technical aptitude in engineering fundamentals and data analysis using Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
