About the role#
As an Engineering Intern at James Hardie, you will gain hands-on experience by contributing to projects that drive plant performance. This 12-week paid internship is designed to build your technical skills and provide real-world industry exposure within a manufacturing environment.
What you'll do#
- Own and complete a meaningful project that delivers measurable business impact.
- Work on initiatives to reduce downtime, scrap, and process variation.
- Improve equipment reliability, product quality, safety, and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate across departments and communicate your progress effectively.
- Adapt to the manufacturing environment while working independently.
- Present a final recommendation that adds value to the plant.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering.
- An anticipated graduation date between December 2027 and May 2029.
- A minimum GPA of 3.00.
- Ability to work full-time for 12 weeks during summer 2027.
- Reliable transportation to and from the work location.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
