About the role#
This is a 12-week paid internship focused on process engineering and Lean manufacturing. You will work on-site in Saint Paul to analyze plant operations, identify inefficiencies, and implement improvements. You will collaborate with the Ultralox operational leadership team to drive measurable results in safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
What you'll do#
- Review current manufacturing processes and standard work documentation.
- Create value stream maps to identify bottlenecks and waste.
- Plan and participate in focused kaizen events.
- Track action items from start to completion to ensure sustainable changes.
- Measure the success of improvements using specific performance metrics.
- Prepare and deliver project updates to leadership.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor's degree program for Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
- Anticipated graduation date between December 2027 and May 2029.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Previous experience on a manufacturing shop floor through work or a prior internship.
- Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
- Authorization to work in the United States.

- Term: Full-time for 12 weeks during Summer 2027.
