About the role#
The VESL Plus Program provides vocational English and work readiness training to help newly arrived refugees prepare for and secure entry-level employment. This internship offers the opportunity to support program operations, assist with classroom instruction, and contribute to curriculum development. The role reports to the Education and Training Supervisor.
What you'll do#
- Assist or teach in classrooms as needed to support VESL instructors.
- Contribute to the development and research of classroom curricula and materials.
- Manage program intake processes and collect required documentation.
- Maintain organized digital and physical files for clients and cohorts.
- Track student attendance records.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate degree program or a TESOL/TFL certificate program.
- Experience working with adults from diverse backgrounds.
- Strong computer skills and comfort using online platforms like Zoom and Teams.
- Ability to work as an organized, flexible, and independent self-starter.
- Preferred qualifications include overseas study experience or prior ESL teaching experience.

- Term: Fall 2026.
- Modality: This is an on-site, full-time, unpaid internship.
- Schedule: Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm PST, with hours determined based on intern availability.
