About the role#
The Community Engagement Intern works within the Resource Development department in Atlanta. This team builds connections between the local community and the IRC to secure monetary, in-kind, and volunteer resources for our clients. You will support these efforts to help the office meet the needs of refugees and immigrants in the area.
What you'll do#
- Maintain data across databases and record information for community engagement prospects.
- Attend information sessions and community engagement events.
- Assist with event planning, fundraising, and external communications.
- Provide direct service to clients as requested by the Resource Development team.
- Participate in staff meetings and professional development programs.
What you'll need#
- An interest in international affairs and refugee or immigrant issues.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Effective writing and communication skills.
- A desire to help people and an interest in working in a multi-cultural setting.
- Ability to commit to 15 hours per week for at least 3 consecutive months.
- Must be at least 18 years old and authorized to work in the United States.
- Ability to pass a background check.

- This is an on-site internship located in Atlanta, Georgia.
- The term runs for Fall 2026, beginning the week of September 8, 2026.
- This is an unpaid position.
