About the role#
The Community Engagement Intern supports the Resource Development department in Atlanta. This role focuses on building connections between the community and the organization to secure monetary, in-kind, and volunteer resources for clients. This is an unpaid, on-site internship.
What you'll do#
- Maintain accurate data across databases and record community engagement prospect information.
- Attend and participate in community engagement events and information sessions.
- Assist with Resource Development needs, including external communications, event planning, and fundraising.
- Provide direct service to clients as needed by the Resource Development team.
- Attend staff meetings and professional development programs.
- Submit internship hours through the volunteer portal.
What you'll need#
- Interest in international affairs and refugee or immigrant issues.
- Effective communication and writing skills.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to work with creativity and initiative in a multi-cultural setting.
- Must be at least 18 years old and authorized to work in the United States.
- Must pass a background check.
- Preferred majors include International Relations, Political Science, Sociology, Human Resources, or Public Health.
Location & details#
- Location: Atlanta, Georgia.
- Term: Fall 2026.
- Commitment: Minimum of 15 hours per week for at least 3 consecutive months.
- Start Date: The week of September 8, 2026.
