The Community Engagement Intern position is based within the Resource Development department in Atlanta. The role focuses on building connections between the community and the IRC to secure monetary, in-kind, and volunteer resources for clients. This is an unpaid, on-site internship.
What you'll do#
- Assist the Community Engagement Coordinator in maintaining accurate data across databases.
- Collect and record information regarding community engagement prospects.
- Attend and participate in community engagement events and information sessions.
- Provide direct service to clients as required by the Resource Development team.
- Support Resource Development initiatives, including external communications, event planning, and fundraising efforts.
- Attend and participate in staff meetings and development programs.
What you'll need#
- An interest in international affairs and refugee or immigrant issues.
- Effective communication and writing skills.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational abilities.
- Creativity, initiative, and strong time management skills.
- A desire to help others and enthusiasm for working in a multi-cultural environment.
- Ability to pass a background check.
- Must be at least 18 years old and authorized to work in the United States.
Location & details#
- Location: Atlanta, Georgia.
- Term: Fall 2026, beginning the week of September 8, 2026.
- Commitment: Minimum of 15 hours per week for at least 3 consecutive months.
