About the role#
The Extended Services Intern supports the Intensive Case Management, Extended Case Management, and Services for Older Refugees programs. This role assists vulnerable refugee households, including survivors of domestic violence, youth, older refugees, and individuals with physical or mental health conditions. Interns work with the team to develop and implement service plans that connect clients to necessary medical, social, and vocational resources.
What you'll do#
- Assist clients with arranging transportation to medical and other required appointments.
- Conduct virtual orientation sessions on topics such as using public transportation and accessing community resources.
- Support case management activities for vulnerable households.
- Maintain service documentation through case notes and file management.
What you'll need#
- Interest or experience in working with refugees, immigrants, case management, or public health.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and web-based databases.
- Fluency in English; bilingual ability is desired.
- A valid driver's license and reliable access to a vehicle are strongly preferred.
Location & details#
- Location: Baltimore, Maryland.
- Modality: Hybrid, requiring at least 3 days per week in the office.
- Term: Fall 2026 (September 14, 2026, through December 18, 2026).
- Commitment: Minimum of 15 hours per week.
- Compensation: This is an unpaid internship. A per diem of $15 per day is available to offset food and travel costs, and mileage reimbursement is provided for approved activities.
