About the role#
The Clinical Intern for the ECHO Program supports our clinical staff in providing counseling services to children, teens, and adults. This unpaid internship offers experience in a multi-generational and multi-cultural setting. You will perform all duties under the supervision of a licensed clinician.
What you'll do#
- Assist with administrative tasks including scheduling medical appointments, managing prescriptions, and processing referrals and insurance authorizations.
- Prepare medical reports for DCF.
- Provide clinical and supportive counseling for individuals, groups, and families.
- Conduct intakes, perform clinical assessments, and diagnose clinical conditions.
- Develop treatment plans and provide counseling and discharge services for uninsured children and families.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited Clinical Master's degree program in Social Work, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or a related human services field.
- Intent to seek licensure upon graduation.
- Working knowledge of clinical counseling.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to communicate well with diverse teams and clients.
- Resiliency and the ability to persevere.
- A sincere interest in helping others.
- Please note that all applicants must undergo background screening through the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration.
