About the role#
The Anti-Trafficking Intern will support case management teams in serving survivors of human trafficking. This role focuses on assisting clients who face systemic barriers to accessing essential resources and services. This is an unpaid, on-site internship for the Fall 2026 semester.
What you'll do#
- Assess client needs and priorities to help create and implement service plans.
- Provide direct support through ongoing case management.
- Draft, edit, and distribute informational materials including flyers, fact sheets, and presentations.
- Research agencies, networks, and service providers to support partnership development.
- Guide clients to appointments with legal, healthcare, and public benefit providers.
- Perform community mapping to identify external resources and conduct outreach to increase program visibility.
- Maintain quality control of client files.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or recent graduation from an undergraduate or graduate program in fields such as Psychology, Political Science, Sociology, Human Resources, Public Health, or Criminal Justice.
- Ability to commit to a minimum of 24 hours per week.
- Excellent communication and writing skills.
- Proficiency in Spanish, Arabic, or French is preferred.
- Reliable access to a personal vehicle, a valid US driver’s license, and an active insurance policy are preferred.
- Willingness to use public transportation to assist clients with navigation.
Location & details#
- Location: Silver Spring, Maryland.
- Term: Fall 2026 (September through December).
- Modality: This position requires in-person attendance.
- Orientation: Interns must attend an in-person orientation on September 7, 2026.
- Compensation: This position is unpaid, though interns may be eligible for a per diem reimbursement of $15 per day to offset food and travel costs.
