About the role#
As an Industrial Engineering Intern at Intelcom | Dragonfly, you will contribute to real projects that shape our logistics operations. You will gain hands-on experience by working on automation strategies, operational flows, and site performance. This role involves regular communication with stakeholders across Canada.
What you'll do#
- Analyze and improve operational flows, manual sorting processes, and automation strategies across various sites.
- Develop operating standards and continuous improvement initiatives using Lean principles and ergonomic standards.
- Support the design, testing, and implementation of new stations, including layout planning and equipment selection.
- Create and update technical drawings in AutoCAD and validate these designs with the engineering team.
- Conduct data analysis on throughput, quality metrics, and costs to define sorting thresholds and support decision-making.
- Participate in field visits to gather insights, assess equipment performance, and assist in project execution.
- Prepare visual aids, documentation, and recommendations for material handling projects.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor's degree program for industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Excel with a focus on data analysis.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD.
- Willingness to travel to various locations for site visits and project support, with flexibility to work early mornings or late evenings.
- A proactive and solution-driven mindset.
- Experience with simulation software, familiarity with automated warehouse environments, and an understanding of RFI, RFP, and RFQ processes are considered assets.
