About the role#
As an Industrial Engineering Intern at Intelcom | Dragonfly, you will contribute to real projects that shape our logistics operations. This role focuses on equipment and maintenance, requiring you to work directly with our engineering team to improve how we sort and process parcels. You will participate in field visits to gather insights, assess equipment performance, and support project execution across our sites. This position requires regular communication with stakeholders across Canada.
What you'll do#
- Analyze and improve operational flows, automation strategies, and manual sorting processes.
- Develop operating standards and continuous improvement initiatives using Lean principles and ergonomic standards.
- Design, test, and implement new stations, including layout planning and equipment selection.
- Create and update technical drawings in AutoCAD and validate designs with the engineering team.
- Conduct data analysis on throughput, costs, and quality metrics to define sorting thresholds.
- Assist in preparing visual aids, documentation, and recommendations for material handling projects.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Excel with a focus on data analysis.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD or similar CAD software to create and interpret technical drawings.
- A proactive and solution-driven mindset.
- Familiarity with process mapping, time studies, capacity analysis, workflow analysis, and Lean methodologies is an asset.
- Understanding of RFI, RFP, and RFQ processes is an asset.
- Familiarity with automated warehouse or hub environments is an asset.

- Location: Montreal, Quebec.
- Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: This is a full-time, paid internship with a rolling term. You must be willing to travel to various locations for site visits and maintain flexibility to accommodate operational hours, including early mornings or late evenings.
