About the role#
As a Financial Reporting & Accounting Intern, you will participate in real projects that impact our daily operations. You will gain hands-on experience by working with our finance team in a professional setting. This is a full-time, paid internship based in Montreal.
What you'll do#
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities, including journal entries, variance analysis, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Assist with cash management and analysis tasks.
- Help draft and improve accounting procedures for fixed assets, cash flow, and month-end modules.
- Work with the Accounts Receivable team to analyze customer accounts, reconcile balances, follow up on discrepancies, and prepare information on past-due accounts.
- Assist the Accounts Payable team with invoice validation, supplier statement reconciliations, and payment-cycle activities.
- Collaborate on internal control and Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) initiatives, including process documentation, control testing, and gathering audit evidence.
- Communicate regularly with stakeholders across Canada.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an Accounting degree program, specifically on the CPA path.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects accurately.
- A proactive, solution-oriented mindset.
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
