About the role#
BAYSTAR is hiring a Mechanical Engineering intern for the Summer 2027 term. You will work on-site at our Pasadena, Texas facility. This is a paid, full-time position where you will support our design team and assist with engineering projects.
What you'll do#
- Review drawings to verify manufacturability and functionality.
- Help the production team with standard engineering concerns.
- Solve a range of engineering problems.
- Manage and execute small projects as assigned.
- Follow all plant safety policies and procedures.
- Contribute to team efforts and complete related tasks as needed.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a Junior or Senior in an accredited Mechanical Engineering or related undergraduate program.
- Minimum 3.0 GPA.
- Strong technical, writing, and analytical skills.
- Ability to follow directions and complete tasks independently.
- Detail-oriented approach with a focus on quality.
- Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is preferred.

- Modality: On-site at a chemical processing facility.
- Physical requirements include the ability to wear required PPE, lift up to 10 pounds, and walk safely in industrial areas. You may be required to work different shifts.
