About the role#
Indorama Ventures: Indovinya is seeking a Mechanical Engineer Intern for a 10-week summer program based in Port Neches, Texas. This internship provides students with hands-on experience in a chemical manufacturing environment. You will be assigned to either Project Engineering or Reliability Engineering to support day-to-day operations and specific technical projects.
What you'll do#
- Provide technical support to your assigned area.
- Assist engineers with project tasks and daily engineering assignments.
- Give a final presentation on your project work to the Site Leadership Team.
- Provide regular status updates to your mentor.
- Ensure all activities comply with integrated management system requirements, including safety and environmental protocols.
- Participate in Environmental, Health, & Safety initiatives and complete required training.
- Work with team members from different backgrounds to support company goals.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited four-year university.
- Junior or Senior standing by the end of Spring 2025.
- Pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering with a 3.0 GPA or higher.
- Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
- Ability to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card.
- Proficiency in Microsoft programs, email, and internet research.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to solve complex problems and analyze information to draw valid conclusions.
- Knowledge of basic chemical plant manufacturing principles.
- Awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
- Proficiency in process simulation programs is preferred.

- Schedule: Full-time, on-site for the 10-week summer program.
