About the role#
This internship provides an opportunity to apply statistical and actuarial skills within a blended health organization. You will work on both traditional actuarial tasks, such as premium development and claim reserving, and non-traditional projects like provider analysis and predictive analytics. You will receive guidance and mentoring from senior personnel while contributing to the objectives of the actuarial team.
What you'll do#
- Prepare, perform, and analyze various actuarial studies.
- Create presentation materials to inform decision makers.
- Conduct research and provide recommendations or alternative proposals for action.
- Participate in the planning and implementation of unit projects and initiatives.
- Communicate with colleagues and internal constituencies to resolve operational tasks.
What you'll need#
- A Bachelor's degree.
- Current enrollment in a graduate degree program, either full or part-time, at an accredited college or university.
- Majors in Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Economics, or Data Science.
- Effective communication skills.
- A willingness to participate in projects and programs to develop professional expertise.
- Authorization to work in the United States independently, as visa sponsorship is not available.

- This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027.
- The position is located on-site in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
