About the role#
This internship provides an opportunity to perform radiographic imaging procedures at a technical level under the supervision of a technologist. You will work on-site in Erie, Pennsylvania, to gain hands-on experience in a hospital setting. This is a paid, full-time position with a rolling term.
What you'll do#
- Position patients and select the correct anatomic and technical parameters for imaging procedures.
- Prepare for and assist physicians during imaging tasks.
- Complete all required documentation, including billing protocols and image distribution.
- Implement radiation protection and safety standards.
- Assist the Radiology Technologist by attending to patient needs and documenting clinical information.
- Maintain adequate supplies to keep the department running efficiently.
- Assist in preparing contrast media or medications within your scope of practice.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a radiology technologist program in good standing.
- American Heart Association CPR certification.
- Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
- Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate.
- Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
