About the role#
This internship provides an opportunity to perform prescribed radiographic imaging procedures and assist providers during catheterization lab procedures. Working under the direct supervision of a technologist, you will gain hands-on experience in a technical role that requires independent judgment and initiative.
What you'll do#
- Prepare for and assist physicians in catheterization lab procedures by applying knowledge of cardiovascular and peripheral vascular physiology, pathophysiology, and procedural techniques.
- Operate and troubleshoot equipment in collaboration with your preceptor, contacting support personnel as needed.
- Monitor procedural activities to identify and respond to adverse reactions or conditions.
- Complete all required documentation for procedures, including image storage and archiving.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- High School diploma or GED.
- Current enrollment and good standing in a radiology technologist program.
- CPR certification.
- Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
- Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate.
- Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance.
