About the role#
HealthCorps is seeking interns to serve as mentors for the Teens Make Health Happen program in Southern Oklahoma. This role focuses on empowering middle and high school students to make healthier choices and become leaders within their schools and neighborhoods. Interns will act as near-peer mentors, providing health education and facilitating wellness programming throughout the academic year.
What you'll do#
- Develop relationships with teen wellness leaders and site partners to deliver programming across assigned school sites.
- Research local health challenges and measure program impact through needs assessments and regular reporting.
- Plan and implement the Teens Make Health Happen curriculum, including hosting monthly demonstrations and supporting regional events.
- Promote the HealthCorps mission and connect students and staff to relevant community health resources.
- Contribute to organizational outreach by sharing program highlights and impact stories.
What you'll need#
- Current undergraduate or graduate student in public health, nutrition, psychology, biology, marketing, health administration, sociology, or related fields.
- Good academic standing with your university.
- Commitment of at least 8 hours per week for the academic year.
- Ability to learn and present health-related topics to a teen audience.
- Desire for personal and professional growth as a leader.
- Ability to travel to school sites within the Southern Oklahoma area and lift up to 15 pounds.

- Locations: Ardmore, Dickson, Madill, Kingston, and Davis, Oklahoma.
- Term: Fall 2026 academic year.
- Modality: Hybrid.
- Status: Full-time internship.
- Compensation: Paid via stipend; college credit available depending on university guidelines.
