HealthCorps is seeking a Health Education Intern to serve as a mentor for the Teens Make Health Happen program in Southern Oklahoma. This role involves working directly with middle and high school students to improve their physical and mental well-being. Interns act as near-peer mentors, helping students lead wellness initiatives and fostering a supportive environment for health education.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with teen wellness leaders and site partners to deliver programming across assigned school sites.
- Research local health challenges and measure program impact through needs assessments and regular reporting.
- Plan and implement the Teens Make Health Happen program, requiring at least 8 hours of commitment per week.
- Host monthly health demonstrations and support regional events.
- Promote the HealthCorps mission by connecting students, staff, and community members to local health resources.
- Contribute to program visibility by sharing highlights and impact stories.
What you'll need#
- Current undergraduate or graduate student in public health, nutrition, psychology, biology, marketing, health administration, sociology, public policy, education, social work, or related fields.
- Good academic standing with your university.
- Ability to commit 8+ hours per week for the duration of the academic year.
- Comfort with learning and presenting health-related topics to a teen audience.
- A strong desire for personal and professional leadership growth.
- Ability to travel up to 60 miles within the Southern Oklahoma area and lift up to 15 pounds.

- Locations: Ardmore, Dickson, Madill, Kingston, or Davis, Oklahoma.
- Modality: Hybrid.
- Term: Fall 2026 academic year.
- Compensation: Paid via stipend; college credit available depending on university guidelines.
- Employment Type: Full-time (internship).
