About the role#
HealthCorps is looking for mentors to support the Teens Make Health Happen program in Southern Oklahoma. This internship focuses on empowering middle and high school students to make healthy choices for themselves and their families. You will serve as a near-peer mentor, helping students develop leadership skills and improve their physical and mental well-being.
What you'll do#
- Build relationships with teen wellness leaders and site partners to deliver programming at 1-4 school sites.
- Plan and run the Teens Make Health Happen club, including 3-4 hours of instructional time at school campuses each week.
- Research local health challenges and track the impact of your work through assessments and reporting.
- Host health demonstrations and support regional events.
- Promote the organization by sharing program highlights and connecting community members to health resources.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment as an undergraduate or graduate student in public health, nutrition, psychology, biology, marketing, health administration, sociology, public policy, education, or social work.
- Good academic standing at your university.
- Availability to commit 8+ hours each week for the entire academic year.
- Comfort with learning and presenting health-related topics to teens.
- A desire to grow as a leader.
- Ability to travel up to 60 miles within Southern Oklahoma and lift up to 15 pounds.

- Locations: Ardmore, Dickson, Madill, Kingston, and Davis, Oklahoma.
- Term: Fall 2026.
- Modality: Hybrid.
- Status: Full-time, paid internship with a stipend and potential for college credit.
