About the role#
HealthCorps is looking for mentors to support the Teens Make Health Happen program. You will work directly with middle and high school students to help them build leadership skills, make healthy choices, and lead community projects. This is a hands-on role for students interested in public health, education, psychology, nutrition, biology, or marketing.
What you'll do#
- Lead wellness clubs in 2 to 3 schools.
- Mentor students on wellness topics and community projects.
- Support student-led activities like step challenges and school events.
- Build relationships with school staff and student leaders.
- Host monthly Cafe O’Yea wellness demonstrations.
- Track program impact through assessments and documentation.
- Share program highlights on social media.
- Represent HealthCorps at community events.
What you'll need#
- Current undergraduate or graduate student in a related field.
- Ability to commit 6 to 8 hours per week.
- Comfort presenting wellness topics to teens.
- Ability to travel up to 30 miles within the Greater Philadelphia or Wilmington area.
- Ability to lift up to 15 lbs.
- Good academic standing.
- Ability to pass required background checks.
