Teens Make Health Happen Internship

About the role#

HealthCorps is seeking mentors for the Teens Make Health Happen (TMHH) program. In this role, you will serve as a near-peer mentor to middle and high school students, acting as a catalyst for sustainable change by promoting health and wellness. You will work directly in school sites to empower teens to become leaders within their families, schools, and neighborhoods.

What you'll do#

• Develop Strong Relationships: Collaborate with teen wellness leaders and site partners to ensure effective delivery of programming across 2 school sites.
• Assess Schools’ Needs and Progress: Research health challenges at your assigned schools and measure your impact by completing needs assessments, reporting, and tracking your work.
• Manage TMHH Clubs: Plan and implement the Teens Make Health Happen program, committing to at least 8 hours per week throughout the academic year.
• Share and Make Aware: Host monthly Café O Yea demonstrations at your sites and support regional events. Contribute to the organization's social media platforms by sharing program highlights, impact stories, and photos.

What you'll need#

• Current undergraduate or graduate student in good academic standing.
• Academic background or interest in public health, public policy, biology, nutrition, marketing, psychology, education, social work, or related fields.
• Ability to commit to 8+ hours per week for the academic year.
• Strong desire for personal and professional growth as a community leader and public speaker.
• Ability to travel up to 40 miles within the Phoenix area and lift up to 15 pounds.

• Locations: Phoenix, Tolleson, and Chandler, Arizona.
• Term: Winter 2026 and Summer 2026.
• Work Modality: Hybrid.
• Compensation: This is a paid internship providing a monthly stipend. College credit may be available depending on university requirements.
