About the role#
HealthCorps is looking for a creative and organized intern to support our marketing and communications efforts in Pittsburgh. You will help share the impact of our programs by creating content, managing social media, and assisting with regional outreach. This role offers hands-on experience in nonprofit storytelling and community engagement while you work alongside regional staff and fellow interns.
What you'll do#
- Visit local school sites weekly to capture stories and content for digital platforms.
- Manage regional social media channels, including Instagram and TikTok, by creating and publishing content.
- Assist in developing communications materials for students, families, school partners, and stakeholders.
- Create marketing collateral such as flyers, posters, presentations, and event signage.
- Support the promotion and execution of regional events through digital outreach.
- Track engagement analytics and participate in monthly reporting.
- Collaborate with college mentors and participate in national intern huddles.
- Serve as an ambassador for the HealthCorps mission in the community.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor’s degree program for communications, marketing, business, public health, or a related field.
- Completion of introductory courses in marketing or business.
- Basic understanding of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Applied knowledge of marketing principles and familiarity with major social media platforms.
- Proficiency in graphic design, photography, and basic video editing.
- Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and multitask.
- Experience with Canva, social media management tools, or editing software like CapCut and Adobe Creative Cloud is a plus.
Location & details#
- Location: Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
- Work Modality: Hybrid.
- Commitment: 8+ hours per week during the 2026-2027 academic year.
- Travel: Ability to travel up to 40 miles within Pittsburgh to assigned sites.
- Compensation: Paid via a learning stipend; college credit is available.
