About the role#
The High School Fellow Teacher role is designed to prepare educators for a transition into a lead teacher position within two years. You will work closely with school administration and lead teachers to plan lessons, provide small-group instruction, and support various classrooms. This position involves serving as the school-level substitute for daily or extended absences and requires a flexible approach to meet the needs of the school.
What you'll do#
- Plan and execute academically rigorous lessons while integrating Biblical truth.
- Use academic data to modify instruction for whole and small groups.
- Implement curriculum to ensure students meet grade-level benchmarks.
- Support intervention and acceleration periods.
- Build trusting relationships with students and serve as a cultural and spiritual model.
- Support character development by modeling integrity, respect, courage, and perseverance.
- Communicate proactively with families, students, and colleagues.
- Collaborate with supervisors, parents, and community members.
- Attend bi-weekly meetings with an instructional coach or administrator to review feedback.
- Assist with daily operational duties including arrival, lunch, recess, and dismissal.
- Pursue professional growth through development, workshops, and coursework.
What you'll need#
- A bachelor’s degree and the ability to meet accreditation requirements.
- Active participation in a Christian church.
- Agreement with the school's Mission Statement and Statement of Beliefs.
- Adherence to biblical standards of conduct and the highest personal integrity.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to differentiate instruction for various skill levels.
- A commitment to the school's mission and model as a team player.
