About the role#
The Mariner Group at HarperCollins Publishers is hiring an Editorial Intern for the summer of 2027. This role supports the Mariner, Amistad, HarperVia, and HarperCollins Español imprints. You will gain exposure to the book production process while assisting the editorial team with daily tasks.
What you'll do#
- Write fact sheets, jacket copy, and reading group guides.
- Read and evaluate manuscript submissions.
- Draft rejection letters for submissions.
- Attend team and department meetings.
- Assist the editorial staff with various projects as needed.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in or recent graduation from an undergraduate or master's program.
- Availability to work 28 hours per week, Monday through Thursday, from June 7 to August 12, 2027.
- Up to 1 year of work experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- A genuine interest in books.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
- A resume and cover letter addressed to the Hiring Team.

- This position is located on-site at our office in New York, New York.
- The internship is paid at a rate of $18 per hour.
