About the role#
We are hiring a Mechanical Engineering Intern to join our team in Beaumont, Texas. This is a full-time, paid, on-site position. You will work under direct supervision to complete routine design tasks and support our engineering projects.
What you'll do#
- Perform routine designs for less complex engineering assignments.
- Follow department engineering design and drafting standards.
- Develop conceptual layouts and studies to find efficient approaches to engineering tasks.
- Produce preliminary designs and material take-offs for project estimates.
- Create detail design calculations, reports, drawings, and sketches.
- Help engineers and designers resolve routine layout and detailing problems.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor or Master of Science program for Mechanical Engineering at an accredited university.
- Familiarity with design standards and codes.
- Working knowledge of CAD software.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to sit, stand, or walk for long periods.
