About the role#
Hargrove Engineers & Constructors is hiring a Pulp and Paper Process Engineering Co-Op. This is a paid, full-time, on-site position based in Mobile, Alabama. You will work under direct supervision to perform routine engineering tasks and assist with design methods.
What you'll do#
- Perform routine engineering tasks on less complex assignments.
- Produce detail design calculations, spreadsheets, reports, and drawings.
- Help develop conceptual process engineering designs to solve engineering problems.
- Create estimate level preliminary designs and material take-offs.
- Support project goals regarding safety, cost, schedule, and quality.
- Learn and apply engineering design and drafting standards.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor of Science degree program for Chemical or Biochemical Engineering.
- A GPA of 2.7 or higher.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Familiarity with chemical and process engineering calculations, such as material and energy balances, heat transfer, fluid dynamics, and mass transfer.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD or Microstation.
- Ability to sit, stand, or walk for long periods.
