About the role#
Hargrove Engineers & Constructors is hiring a Mechanical Engineering Co-Op for a rolling term in Mobile, Alabama. This is a full-time, on-site, paid position. You will work under direct supervision to complete routine engineering assignments and support our design teams on various projects.
What you'll do#
- Perform routine designs for less complex engineering tasks.
- Help develop conceptual layouts and studies to find efficient project approaches.
- Assist in creating estimate level preliminary designs and material take-offs.
- Prepare detail design calculations, spreadsheets, reports, drawings, and sketches.
- Work with engineers and designers to resolve routine layout and detailing problems.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor or Master of Science program for Mechanical Engineering.
- A GPA of 2.7 or higher.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Microstation, or both.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Familiarity with standard engineering design codes.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to sit, stand, or walk for long periods.
