About the role#
Hargrove Engineers & Constructors is hiring a Structural Engineering Co-Op to join our team in Mobile, Alabama. This is a full-time, paid position. You will work under direct supervision to assist with engineering assignments, learning our design standards and practical methods.
What you'll do#
- Assist with routine designs for less complex engineering projects.
- Develop conceptual layouts and cost studies to find efficient solutions.
- Create estimate level preliminary designs and material take-offs.
- Prepare detail design calculations and sketches for construction materials.
- Help the drafting group resolve layout and detailing problems.
- Support the department with tasks like filing, scanning, and copying.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor or Master degree program for Civil Engineering.
- Completed structural coursework.
- A GPA of 2.7 or higher.
- Basic knowledge of AutoCAD or Microstation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
