About the role#
Hargrove Engineers & Constructors is hiring a Process Engineering Co-Op for a rolling term in Mobile, Alabama. This is a full-time, paid, on-site position. You will work under direct supervision to complete routine engineering tasks and assist with project design requirements.
What you'll do#
- Perform routine engineering tasks and less complex assignments.
- Assist in producing detail design calculations, spreadsheets, reports, drawings, and sketches.
- Help develop conceptual process engineering designs.
- Produce estimate level preliminary designs and material take-offs.
- Support project goals regarding safety, cost, schedule, and quality.
- Learn and utilize engineering design and drafting standards.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor of Science degree program for Chemical or Biochemical Engineering.
- A GPA of 2.7 or higher.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Working knowledge of CAD software, such as AutoCAD or Microstation.
- Familiarity with chemical engineering calculations like material and energy balances, heat transfer, fluid dynamics, and mass transfer.
- Experience with chemical engineering simulation software or hydraulic analysis tools is helpful.
- Ability to sit, stand, or walk for long periods.
