About the role#
This is a paid, full-time Electrical/Instrumentation Co-Op position based in Mobile, Alabama. You will work on-site and assist our engineering team with routine design assignments and project documentation. This role is open to students currently pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering.
What you'll do#
- Perform routine designs for less complex engineering tasks under direct supervision.
- Help develop conceptual layouts and studies to determine efficient approaches.
- Assist in producing estimate-level preliminary designs and material take-offs.
- Create detail design calculations, reports, drawings, and sketches.
- Work with engineers to resolve routine layout and detailing problems.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor or Master of Science program for Electrical Engineering.
- A GPA of 2.7 or higher.
- Familiarity with engineering design standards and codes.
- Working knowledge of CAD software such as AutoCAD or MicroStation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook.
- Understanding of three-phase electricity principles, including power units and motor specifications.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
