About the role#
CenterPoint Energy is hiring an Electrical Engineering Intern for the Summer 2027 term. You will work within the Houston Electric Operations division to gain hands-on experience in the utility sector. You will support engineering teams across various areas, including Transmission, Distribution, Substation, Major Underground, System Protection, Standards and Materials, Distribution Planning, Realtime Operations, and Control Systems.
What you'll do#
- Assist engineers with projects across multiple operational areas.
- Maintain and update Access databases and Excel spreadsheets to track the status of ongoing projects.
- Compile and deliver project completion data to stakeholders.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a full-time student pursuing a bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Sophomore, Junior, or Senior academic standing.
- Minimum 3.0 GPA.
- A valid and current drivers license.
