About the role#
As a Mechanical Engineering Intern at SPX Technologies, you will work directly with our engineering team to support product development. You will handle prototype testing, unit assembly, and technical documentation. This is a hands-on role where you will contribute to the lifecycle of our inspection equipment.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the assembly and testing of alpha units for upcoming product releases.
- Conduct beta testing using test lab, terrarium, and in-pipe testing tools.
- Create and maintain documentation for both alpha and beta products.
- Contribute to various design and analysis tasks.
- Lead additional projects that you propose or are assigned to you.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor’s degree program for Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
- Completion of at least three years of engineering studies.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
- Familiarity with technical drawings and general mechanical aptitude for tools and machinery.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
- Eligibility to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
Location & details#
- This is an on-site, paid, full-time internship based in Orlando, Florida.
- The role involves working in a manufacturing environment that requires the use of eye and foot protection.
- You must be able to climb, stoop, crouch, and crawl, and occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds.
