Controls + Automation Co-Op

About the role#

This Co-Op position involves performing engineering assignments that increase in complexity as you gain experience. You will work under direct supervision within a team, utilizing theoretical knowledge and practical design methods to support automation and controls projects. This role may include opportunities for on-site support.

What you'll do#

• Assist with automation and controls engineering, including the development of DCS, PLC, and HMI systems.
• Produce detail design calculations, spreadsheets, reports, drawings, and sketches for various projects.
• Assist engineers and specialists in resolving routine layout and detailing problems.
• Learn and utilize automation engineering design standards.
• Assist in producing estimate-level preliminary designs.
• Manage tasks to ensure assignments are completed on schedule.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in a Bachelor or Master program for Chemical, Electrical, or Computer Engineering at an accredited university.
• A GPA of 2.7 or above.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Strong time management, organization, and prioritization skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to learn new skills in a timely manner and accurately estimate task completion.
• Physical ability to sit, stand, or walk for long periods.
