About the role#
As a Controls + Automation Co-Op, you will perform increasingly complex engineering assignments using theoretical knowledge and practical design methods. You will work under direct supervision within a team, assisting with automation and controls engineering, including DCS, PLC, and HMI systems development. This role may provide opportunities for on-site support.
What you'll do#
- Assist engineers and specialists in resolving routine layout and detailing problems.
- Produce detail design calculations, spreadsheets, reports, drawings, and sketches for various projects.
- Assist in producing estimate level preliminary designs.
- Learn and utilize automation engineering design standards.
- Solve engineering tasks using simple and efficient approaches.
- Manage your schedule and prioritize assignments to ensure timely completion.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor or Master program of Chemical, Electrical, or Computer Engineering at an accredited university.
- A minimum GPA of 2.7.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Effective time management and organizational abilities.
- Ability to accurately estimate task completion times and forecast hours.
- Ability to sit, stand, or walk for long periods.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
