About the role#
As a Student Nurse Care Partner in the float pool, you will work with the patient care team to deliver support to specific patient populations. This per diem role involves maintaining competency for various groups, considering their physical, safety, nutritional, and psychosocial needs.
What you'll do#
- Participate in patient care under the direction of an RN or LPN, including lifting, turning, and positioning patients, assisting with hygiene, feeding, and range of motion exercises.
- Perform and record vital signs, intake and output, and patient activities.
- Assist with clinical tasks such as simple dressing changes, incentive spirometry supervision, surgical preps, and removal of peripheral IV catheters.
- Perform specimen collection, complete EKGs, and transport patients, equipment, and blood products.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients, including managing patient belongings and equipment storage.
- Monitor patient safety, including sitting with disoriented patients and reporting changes in condition to nursing staff.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team using telephones and computer systems.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a licensed nurse education program.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Current CPR certification.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to operate hospital computer systems and communication equipment.

- Pay: $17.34 - $24.32 per hour.
