About the role#
The Student Dietary Associate provides food service support for patients, employees, and staff. This is a per diem, on-site role based in Binghamton, New York, suitable for students pursuing studies in Nutrition, Public Health, Health Administration, or Biomedical Sciences.
What you'll do#
- Prepare assembly line stations for patient supper tray service.
- Assemble food items for patient trays based on marked menus.
- Transport food carts to and from patient floors safely and efficiently.
- Collect and transport waste from dietary and cafeteria areas to the compactor.
- Scrape and wash dishware from patient trays and the employee cafeteria following sanitation procedures.
- Scrub, sanitize, and organize pots and pans.
- Follow department policies and utilize proper body mechanics to prevent injury.
What you'll need#
- Must be at least sixteen years of age.
- Ability to read, write, and understand both written and oral communication.
- Previous experience is helpful but not required.
