About the role#
Pharmacy Interns perform professional functions associated with the practice of pharmacy under the supervision of a registered pharmacist. This position requires adherence to the rules and regulations of the State Board of Pharmacy while supporting the delivery of pharmaceutical care.
What you'll do#
- Perform pharmacy functions under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist.
- Process orders and manage inventory control.
- Conduct clinical evaluations and provide drug information.
- Manage drug distribution and perform IV compounding.
- Assist with pharmacy technician or inventory control clerk duties as needed.
- Demonstrate competency in acute and ambulatory/home infusion patient care.
- Interpret patient data to identify requirements and provide appropriate pharmaceutical care.
- Ensure adherence to all departmental and institutional regulatory compliance standards, including federal and state fraud and abuse prevention.
What you'll need#
- Valid limited intern permit to practice pharmacy in the state of practice.
- Ability to perform all pharmacy functions under supervision.
- Prior experience in institutional pharmacy is preferred.
- Competency in acute and ambulatory/home infusion patient care.
- Understanding of regulatory compliance standards.
