Pharmacy Intern - Retail Pharmacy - Per Diem

About the role#

Pharmacy Interns perform professional functions associated with the practice of pharmacy under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist. This per diem position requires adherence to state and federal regulations, including standards for regulatory compliance and the prevention of fraud and abuse. Interns are expected to demonstrate growth in clinical knowledge to identify patient requirements and provide appropriate pharmaceutical care.

What you'll do#

• Perform pharmacy functions including order processing, clinical evaluations, and inventory control.
• Provide drug information and manage drug distribution.
• Handle IV compounding tasks.
• Serve as a pharmacy technician or inventory control clerk when needed.
• Interpret patient data to provide care appropriate to the patient's age and clinical status.

What you'll need#

• Enrollment in an ACPE accredited School of Pharmacy with at least 2 years of completed General Education Requirements.
• A current NY State Pharmacy Intern License in good standing.
• Prior experience in institutional pharmacy is preferred.
