About the role#
This summer internship provides a student or recent graduate with hands-on experience in nonprofit donor relations. You will support the Mission:Dignity team by assisting with stewardship, outreach, and data management. The role emphasizes professional development, learning, and practical exposure to fundraising operations while supporting our work with retired ministers and their families.
What you'll do#
- Assist with stewardship activities, including phone calls, emails, and letters.
- Support projects focused on donor acquisition, retention, and recapture.
- Communicate the impact of Mission:Dignity to various audiences.
- Conduct basic donor research and organize findings for the team.
- Enter and update donor information in our database with high attention to detail.
- Prepare materials for meetings, events, mailings, and special projects.
- Organize records, reports, and other donor-related documentation.
- Participate in team meetings, coaching sessions, and learning opportunities.
- Assist with event preparation, hospitality, and follow-up for Southern Baptist gatherings.
- Use donor software and analytics to understand giving patterns and history.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program, or recent graduation in Business Administration, Communications, or Marketing.
- Interest in donor relations, nonprofit fundraising, or mission-driven service.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive donor information.
- Organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Capacity to work both independently and within a team under supervision.
- Commitment to quality service and our Christ-centered mission.
- Willingness to learn internal systems and donor software.
