About the role#
Goodwyn Mills Cawood is hiring an Engineering Intern for our Atlanta, Georgia office. This role supports ongoing projects by preparing reports, site plans, permit documents, and construction schedules. You will work across disciplines and office locations while gaining experience in a professional engineering environment. This is a paid, full-time internship with a rolling term.
What you'll do#
- Apply technical skills to routine projects with minimal supervision.
- Direct technicians in the production of engineering documents.
- Execute cross-discipline checks and coordinate project tasks.
- Review project documents for quality assurance and conformity.
- Report risk management issues to the Project Engineer.
- Assist with defining scope of work issues alongside consultants and contractors.
- Represent the firm in project assignments and client interactions.
- Prepare technical memorandums and reports under supervision.
- Present information effectively in both written and oral formats.
- Participate in individual development planning and contribute to the client services team.
- Engage in local professional societies and community service activities.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited university.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD software.
- Experience with Civil3D is preferred.
- A/E or EPC experience is a plus.
- Foundations of Engineering Certificate (EIT) is a plus.
Location & details#
- This position is based in Atlanta, Georgia.
- The role is on-site and requires 80% office work and 20% field work.
- Field work may involve exposure to various weather conditions, temperatures, and environmental elements. Protective clothing and gear are required for field assignments.
