About the role#
Goodwyn Mills Cawood (GMC) is hiring a Site Civil Engineering Intern for our Nashville office. This role supports ongoing projects by helping prepare reports, site plans, permit documents, and construction schedules. You will work alongside managers and colleagues who provide guidance throughout your internship.
What you'll do#
- Apply technical skills to routine projects with minimal supervision.
- Direct technicians in the production of engineering documents.
- Execute cross-discipline checks and coordinate project requirements.
- Review project documents for quality assurance and conformity.
- Identify and report risk management issues to the Project Engineer.
- Assist in defining scope of work issues with contractors and consultants.
- Prepare technical memorandums and reports under supervision.
- Present information clearly in both oral and written formats.
- Participate in community service and local professional societies.
- Contribute to the Client Services team and provide input on project delivery processes.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor or Master degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited university.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD software.
- Experience with Civil3D is preferred.
- A/E or EPC experience is a plus.
- Foundations of Engineering Certificate (EIT) is a plus.

- Location: Nashville, Tennessee.
- Modality: On-site.
- This position involves a mix of office work (80%) and field work (20%).
- Field work may involve exposure to various weather conditions, temperatures, and environmental elements. Protective clothing and gear are required for field assignments.
