About the role#
This internship offers students the chance to gain hands-on experience in civil engineering. You will work on a variety of projects, preparing essential documents and site plans while receiving guidance from managers and colleagues to support your professional development.
What you'll do#
- Prepare reports, site plans, permit documents, and construction schedules.
- Apply technical skills to routine projects with minimal supervision.
- Direct technicians in the production of engineering documents.
- Execute cross-discipline checks and coordinate project tasks.
- Review project documents for quality assurance and conformity.
- Identify and report risk management issues to the Project Engineer.
- Assist in defining scope of work issues with consultants and contractors.
- Represent the firm to clients and regulatory agencies.
- Contribute to the Client Services team and participate in local professional societies.
- Engage in individual development planning and community service activities.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Civil Engineering at an ABET-accredited university.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD software.
- Experience with Civil3D is preferred.
- Previous experience in A/E or EPC environments is a plus.
- A Foundations of Engineering Certificate (EIT) is a plus.

- Fieldwork: Approximately 20% of the role involves field work, which requires wearing appropriate protective gear and may include exposure to various weather conditions and environmental elements.
