About the role#
GlobalFoundries is seeking a Yield and Characterization Engineer Intern to join the Functional Electrical Test Characterization team at Fab 9. This role focuses on characterizing signals from wafer, kerf, and inline tests to drive yield improvement projects. You will work across multiple teams and communicate with internal and external stakeholders to meet business objectives.
What you'll do#
- Monitor electrical performance trends and manage electrical test holds.
- Investigate abnormal product issues and support general fab operations.
- Develop and improve yield characterization and data analysis methods to identify yield limiters.
- Support process module engineering activities to improve cycle time and manufacturing.
- Perform all tasks in a safe and responsible manner while following health and security requirements.
What you'll need#
- B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or Data Science.
- Understanding of semiconductor technology and solid state device physics.
- Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
