About the role#
GlobalFoundries is seeking a Robotics and Automation Engineering Intern for the Summer 2027 term at our Fab 9 site in Essex Junction, Vermont. This role is part of the Manufacturing Automation organization, which manages factory operations, automation equipment, and mobile robotics platforms. You will work on-site in a full-time capacity.
What you'll do#
- Support the design, assembly, and integration of automated and robotic manufacturing cells.
- Assist the team in preparing manufacturing cells for future automation requirements.
- Evaluate and improve existing automated equipment.
- Lead improvement projects within the manufacturing environment.
- Perform all work in a safe manner while supporting Environmental, Health, and Safety requirements.
What you'll need#
- You must be a junior at the time of application.
- You are currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering.
- An overall GPA of 3.0 or higher is required.
- You must be able to work at least 40 hours per week.
- Fluency in English, both written and verbal, is necessary.
