    About the role#

    Supplier Quality Engineering oversees the submarine supply base to ensure high quality standards. You will work across departments with engineering and purchasing teams to identify and resolve issues. This role involves assessing risk alongside audit and inspection partners, evaluating supplier performance, and managing the resolution of identified problems.

    What you'll do#

    • Draft supplier management plans.
    • Evaluate problem resolution reports submitted by vendors.
    • Write articles for Electric Boat publications to share quality information.
    • Support vendor visits and site activities.
    • Assist with ongoing inspection, certification, and audit efforts.

    What you'll need#

    • Enrollment as a full-time student pursuing a Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Quality, Structural/Civil, Biomedical, or Electrical Engineering.
    • Completion of at least your Freshman year before the internship begins.
    • US citizenship and the ability to pass a medically supervised drug screen and background check.
    • Ability to work 40 hours per week for at least eight consecutive weeks between May 2027 and September 2027.
    • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to solve problems independently or as part of a team.
    • You must be at least 18 years old.

    Location & details#

    • This is a paid, full-time, on-site internship for Summer 2027.
    • Placements occur in Groton, New London, or North Stonington, Connecticut, as well as North Kingstown or Newport, Rhode Island.
    • Interns are responsible for arranging their own housing and transportation.
